Ms. Emeritz is a self taught artist and has been honing her craft for several years. Her instruments of choice are the floor loom and lap loom, and she has a particular passion for projects that present logistical challenges. Her experimental forms have led to 3D projects executed in natural materials such as locally produced or homespun linen, cotton, alpaca, silk and the like.
For this workshop, Catilin will focus on lap loom weaving including fundamental and binary weaving style as well as decorative embellishment and basic tapestry techniques. The class will also discuss practical performance of your finished products and what to consider when choosing materials. Class costs include a simple wooden frame loom complete with tools, as well as natural fiber for first project as well as follow up support via email. Cost is $90.00 there is a maximum of 5 seats. Last day to sign up is March 2.
